My Free Writing

 I was hanging off of a cliff, my life flashing before my eyes and, no wait I’m kidding

I woke up this morning, my alarm screaming in my ears. After about 10 minutes of beeping and whining I finally got out of bed, to see my mum passed out on the floor of intoxication. So I ran over to her and slapped her face to see if she was awake. With one eye she peered at me and said “leave me alone!”. I said back to her “Who’s gonna make my lunch for school then?”. Then the weirdest thing happened, my dad smashed down the door with his mobility scooter. This kids is why you should never drink and drive. Then the bell rang again and then at that moment in time I realised it was all just a dream.Well welcome to my nights sleep.

The shimmering yellow water was right before my feet. The taste of the water was like any other. Surprisingly the water was warm. Looking to my right I see Charlie race for the bucket. Trying not to swallow the water choke on the cup. Laughing away with Charlie telling him he has a yellow water ring around his mouth. After my teacher calls us over to the concrete quad in front of the student centre. The smell of the water under my nose is not quite fresh but not gross. Listening to the dip of the cups in the water. Saying in my head I hope I win.

As I stared into the booming grey clouds I noticed that my feet Sunk Into the soft sticky mud. Crackling dry leaves underneath Mrs Tennant shoes. The heavy breathing with the person next to me.Thundering sounds coming from the gym. All around me I hear the clicks and clacks of the pens. Deep green and yellow trees. The freshness of the colours makes me feel alive. The brown and maroon bark sits above me.

My name is Ethan. I live in Otaki and I am a year 7 and 8. I am writing to you today because I want to recognise you and all you have done.

You have carried us through this tough time. You have worked very hard fighting against covid-19. You are tough and stern and very humorous.

You're a good leader, confident, positive and you're open to all questions.

If it wasn't for you we would be in a much different position. You're always a step ahead

The last thing I saw before the gun fired was my friend waving with a big smile on his face. Bang the gun goes off. I was not ready.All of a sudden I leaped into the pool. I got so much water in my goggles. I hate to take my goggles off half way and that cost me 1st place. I was happy i got though. My eyes hurt in the swim because I had no goggles.
